Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

CareerMap.nl is a career information platform for econometrics students and graduates. This privacy policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Who controls your data

The data controller for CareerMap.nl is Pieter Maarse. If you have questions about your data or this policy, you can email us at info@careermap.nl or use the contact page.

What data we collect

CareerMap does not require user accounts. We only collect data that is needed to run the site and to respond to messages you send us.

Analytics. We use two analytics tools. Umami Analytics is privacy-friendly and cookie-free. It does not collect personally identifiable information. Vercel Analytics measures site traffic and performance. Both tools give us aggregate statistics, such as page views and referral sources, so we can improve the site. The legal basis for analytics is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.

Contact form. When you send a message through the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. We use Resend to deliver that message to our inbox.

How we use contact data

We use the information from the contact form only to read and reply to your message. We do not use it for marketing. We keep contact emails in our inbox and do not delete them. If you want your message removed, contact us and we will delete it.

The legal basis for this processing is your consent, which you give by choosing to send us a message.

Cookies

CareerMap does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Our analytics tools work without cookies.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for their own use. We do use a small number of service providers to run the site:

ProviderPurpose
UmamiPrivacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics
VercelHosting and traffic analytics
SupabaseDatabase that stores site content
ResendDelivery of contact form messages

These providers process data only on our behalf and only to provide their service.

When data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards for that transfer, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Under the GDPR you have the following rights over the personal data we hold about you:

  • The right to access your data.
  • The right to correct your data.
